GOM Audio

GOM Audio beautifully combines three elements that I am quite fond of: ease of use, powerful functionality, and a lack of a price tag. So to put it in other words, this is an application that everyone, even a complete novice, will find very easy to use. It is also an application that has a lot to offer – it’s a properly good audio player. And last but not least, all this functionality is offered to you for the awesome price of free.

A simple setup wizard will guide you through the process of installing GOM Audio on a PC powered by a 32 or 64-bit edition of Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, or 8. The aforementioned setup wizard recommends that you go with the Express Install option, meaning the program files will be copied to your machine and a program group, desktop shortcut, quick launch icon, start menu icon will be created.

By default, GOM Audio uses the Basic skin which has three display modes – you can switch from one mode to another by clicking the mode button in the upper right hand side. There are two more skins to choose from: a cute, white Polar Bear skin and a minimalist Fondness skin. The skin may change, but the fact that GOM Audio is incredibly easy to use does not. An advanced user will immediately feel at home with the interface and a novice will not take long to get accustomed with it.

From a functionality point of view, GOM Audio has all the features you would expect from a properly good audio player: provides support for a long list of audio files, easily create playlists, there’s an equalizer to play with, view a pre-loaded list of online radio stations, set automatic shutdown options, view playing file info, and more. As mentioned above, all of GOM Audio’s functionality is offered for free. You can use this audio player for as long as you want and not part with your hard earned money.
